Spotlight on Automotive Wireless Connectivity

Mimix Broadband, Inc. has introduced an InGaP HBT matched, gain-block amplifier that exhibits high linearity and gain along with low thermal resistance. This versatile, multi-purpose amplifier is identified as the CGB8002-SC and covers DC to 2.8 GHz with 24.5 dBm of saturated power at 450 MHz, 15 dB of gain at 2.7 GHz, and an output third-order intercept point of 37 dBm at 2.7 GHz.

Designed for 3.3V operation, several of these broadband, gain-block amplifiers can be connected in cascade. They are well suited for transmit, receive or IF applications.

The amplifier is offered in an industry-standard, RoHS compliant, SOT-89 package and includes ESD protection, significantly enhancing quality, reliability and ruggedness.

The exceptionally-low thermal resistance (35°C/W) and the more than 4000V HBM (Human Body Model) ESD rating brings together in a single package, low operating voltage, superior performance, high reliability and low cost.
